The Turkish Informatics Foundation Will Work for The Healthy Future of The Planet in 2023
Working with the aim of "transforming Turkey into an information society," the Turkish Informatics Foundation (TBV) implemented education programs focusing on technology and artificial intelligence in 2022. The foundation's goals for 2023 include working towards a healthy future for the planet and developing data-driven projects. TBV President Faruk Eczacıbaşı stated that in 2023, they will continue to collaborate with institutions focused on technology, sustainability, and creating solutions for the future.
The Turkish Informatics Foundation, which works to contribute to the creation of the necessary infrastructure for Turkey to become an information society, to conduct scientific research and development activities, and especially to examine the impacts of new technologies on social and economic life and to produce and implement projects with qualified and respected stakeholders, has launched many significant projects in 2022.
"We will collaborate with institutions focused on creating solutions for the future," said TBV President Faruk Eczacıbaşı. "Our goal as TBV is to work towards ensuring our world has a healthy future and to include our country's signature in this story. Based on the importance of data collection and evaluation in 2022, we took steps to develop projects under the light of science. We will launch our 'Brain Drain or Brain Power?' project in 2023. In 2023, TBV will continue to collaborate with institutions focusing on technology, sustainability, and creating solutions for the future."
Artificial intelligence was prioritized in educational projects
The "Digital Technology Developers" project, launched with the slogan "Turkey Will Develop With Its Digital Intelligence" by the Turkish Informatics Foundation and SAS Turkey, was implemented in collaboration with 20 universities across Turkey.
The "Samsung Innovation Developers Project," initiated in cooperation with Samsung, UNDP, and Istanbul Technical University, received 4,365 applications, with 24 selected individuals completing their training at Istanbul Technical University.
From the Turkish Informatics Foundation's Başlangıç Noktası platform, 125 people graduated from the Technology Entrepreneurship Program, a new generation technology-based entrepreneurship program launched in cooperation with the Danish Refugee Council and Kodluyoruz, aimed at supporting new business models and increasing access to digital employment with innovative solutions. The program provided financial support to 12 successful projects for implementation.
Founder One reached 150 million TL
In collaboration with the Turkey Entrepreneurship Foundation and Maxis Venture Capital Portfolio Management Inc. (İş Bankası), the new generation impact investment fund "Founder One," established in 2022, raised 150 million TL of the projected 300 million TL fund size.
The Digital Turkey Platform is working to increase cooperation with the EU
The platform, created in collaboration with TBV, TÜBİSAD, and TESİD to establish standards in the fields of information, communication, and electronics in Turkey and to develop solutions to problems, with TBV coordinating and representing Digital Europe, initiated significant projects in 2022. The platform, preparing to enhance collaborations with the EU, aims to introduce Turkey's digital capabilities to EU institutions and organizations and to increase collaborations through the use of EU funds. The platform also started collecting nominations for the Future Unicorn Award 2023.
The Blockchain Turkey Platform established seven working groups
Led by the Turkish Informatics Foundation (TBV), the Blockchain Turkey Platform was established to create a sustainable blockchain ecosystem in Turkey, to share knowledge on overcoming challenges to new business practices with this technology, and published new reports in six different titles through seven different working groups, 48 group meetings, four joint events in 2022.
